Recommended supplies for Matchstick Ink and Wash

Most of these materials can be bought at The Artstop. A few things are provided.
Paper: It is preferred that you have loose Arches 140 lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper, Qtr. sheets. (cut from a full 22 x 30 sheet not a pad or block)
Board: 12 x 16 x ¼ board for the loose sheets of paper as a support. It cannot be porous or water absorbent. Options: Plexiglas, Formica, Gator board or a type of wood that is sealed with primer or gesso. Foam core won’t work.
Paint: I use the colors below. Most importantly, bring tube paint since is it soft not dried out. You do not have to buy my colors shown below.
My Colors: Ultra-Marine Blue, Prussian Blue, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Aliz. Crimson, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Cadmium Yellow Light, Lemon Yellow.
(Again, it is fine to bring the colors you have but be sure they are fresh and soft, not hard and dried out.)
Brushes: I use the following sizes synthetic blends. Bring what you have and you should be fine.
Flats: 1-1/2”, 1”, ¾” ½” ( a simple wide foam brush will be good to wet the paper.)
Rounds: #6, #8, #10 #3 Rigger or Liner brush
Palette: A basic open palette style will do for this workshop with good mixing areas.
Four stationery clips or similar, for holding the WC paper to the board.
Ink: One bottle of Higgins Black Magic Waterproof ink or equal. Available at the Artstop
Matchstick Holder: 2mm drafting lead holder. Available at the Artstop
OTHER INCIDENTALS:
Paper towels, Small clean hand towel, Large (5 x 7) cellulose sponge, Grade H pencil, soft eraser, two deep plastic water cans, small blow dryer if possible.
