Local Artists Teaching Children, Teens & Adults

The Art Stop LLC is a fine art supply store with a custom frame shop, art gallery, and a studio for art lessons for adults and children. We are proud to be a locally owned, small business in Penfield, NY. Fully employed by artists, we offer art lessons and classes for a variety of different interests. We also have Stop, Paint & Sip workshops where we provide all art supplies and instruction for acrylic paintings, alcohol ink on tile or acrylic pours! Art camp, and private events, are also conducted in our studio.

10% Discount for Seniors (65 or older), Multiple Family Member & Consecutive Class Sign-ups, just ask! Discount is for weekly lessons, not on all inclusive Stop, Paint & Sip Workshops.

    David Young plays two Renaissance flutes at one time, has sold more than 1,000,000 CDs of his 59 various albums, has been nominated for two Grammy’s and people call his music the most heavenly, healing music on the planet. Over 20,000 healers and healing centers all over the world use his music which reaches 300,000 people every day. It is said that more people have had out of body experiences listening to his music than any musician alive today.

    Over 5,000 attendees of his events have shared having a conversation or spiritual travel with Jesus, Buddha, St Germain, Mother Mary, Quan Yin, an Archangel, had a past life experience or have reconnected with one of their loved ones in Heaven.

    Literally, 80 % of attendees will have one of these experiences and 100 % of people who have had a near death experience will share one of these experiences. David presented at the IANDS convention in Orlando recently and is now doing events coordinated by IANDS.

    Cost: $90 for 8 weeks Ages 5-8

    Young artists will enjoy this lighthearted class. A huge variety of projects makes this class fun over and over again. Basic art concepts are introduced at an age-appropriate level, preparing the student for creative art class, when they are ready. A smock or apron is recommended for this class.

    Supply List:

    • Drawing pad w/perforated top 9 x 12 or 11 x 14
    • 1 set Cray-Pas any size or 6 or 12 set of Playcolor (dry tempera sticks)
    •  2B pencil, eraser
    • All other supplies will be supplied by The Art Stop

    For beginning watercolor artists who have been introduced to the beauty of this medium, Linda Serway Bordwell will provide a comfortable class where you can continue to learn through guided practice exercises.

    Five week sessions will walk through the basic elements of a painting, composition and color while providing opportunity to paint, observe and express yourself with watercolor.

     

    Suggested materials:

    • 1 full sheet of Arches Cold press 140 lb paper or 9 x 12 watercolor block
    • Paints..I prefer professional grade tube colors such as Winsor Newton,  Daniel Smith  and/or  M. Graham:
      • 4 Warm Transparent watercolors:  Winsor Red, New Gamboge, French Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna
      • 4 Cool Transparent colors;  Permanent Alizarin Crimson, Winsor or Hansa Yellow, Winsor Blue and Burnt Umber
    • Flat watercolor brushes:  1 1/2”  and 3/4”
    • Round brushes: 5,10,12 and 14 and a rigger
    • Water container
    • Sketch pad, pencils and gum eraser for sketching
    • Palette with wells
    • Paper towels
    • Masking tape or clips
    • Masking fluid
    • Painting board (larger than paper and rigid enough to resist flexing

Private lessons available starting at $40 an hour for drawing lessons & $50 an hour for painting lessons, minimum 2 hours. Home school classes also available! Please call us and ask for Cindy to set up the class.

Team Building Workshops

Build team spirit by creating something together. Relieve stress and create a sense of accomplishment. In the end your team has a painting to hang in their office or a glass painting exercise to be proud of! Contact Cindy at the Art Stop LLC for more information.

Cancellation Policy: There will be no refund if cancellation isn’t at least 5 business days prior to first class. There will be a $10 administration fee for cancellation. Medical exceptions require a doctors note stating that you are physically unable to attend.
Behavior problems deemed sufficiently disruptive will result in a child’s removal from a class, no refunds are made in these cases. For all children’s classes, kids should bring a smock/old shirt. Classes may be cancelled at the discretion of The Art Stop LLC if class minimums are not met.
