Can draw but want to get better? In this class you will use pencil, charcoal, and pastel to learn basic forms, one and two point perspective, negative space, tonal value and proportion. Use these fundamentals to draw anything. Drawing accurately is the basis for all other fine art mediums. You need to be able to accurately sketch out your canvas or paper before going on the next step. - Materials List:

Get a beautiful softness similar to a Degas’, or photographic realism. Pastels are considered a form of painting, yet you have the control of a stick or pencil, making it more like drawing. Learn about different substrates to paint on and different types of pastels and how they react. Beginner to intermediate. Please feel free to bring along any pastels, paper…which you currently own to our first class. A materials list is attached, but DO NOT purchase any new materials until AFTER the first class. |

Materials List: **Please Note: DO NOT purchase any materials until AFTER the first class. During our first class, we will be testing a variety of papers and pastels which I will provide. Please feel free to bring along any pastels or pastel papers which you currently own to test along with my samples for our first class.** - Soft Pastels- Your choice of brands, with a large assortment of colors and value (dark and light). If you already own pastels, bring what you have.
- Pastel Paper- Your choice of brand and type
- Drawing Board- A piece of Masonite is fine
- Masking Tape
- Baby Wipes
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Small disposable dish to place the pastels you are using
- Glove in a Bottle- Or another type of barrier lotion
- Several reference photos
- Glassine of other smooth paper-used to cover and protect the painting

Creative Art Class is a prerequisite or the confidence to sketch out your canvas. The instructor will help if needed with sketch. This class is strictly acrylics, but the subject matter is up to the student. - Supplies
- flat palette
- palette knife
- paper towels or rags
- No Battat or Liquitex Basics paints, if you do not have any acrylics, hold off until you know the subject matter, then you can choose from open stock
- Sketching pad, pencils, charcoals or conte` crayons for tonal sketch
- You may bring your own reference photo or you can wait until class starts and look through reference material in the studio
